Amateur video from Hama, Syria shows a civil defense truck firing water. The footage, which could not be independently verified by Reuters purportedly shows civil defense troops beating an antigovernment protester. The video, which is said to have been filmed on Friday , shows the man dragged along the street, blood streaming from his head. In Homs, demonstrations continue. Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has largely dismissed the demonstrations as part of a foreign-backed conspiracy to sow sectarian strife in Syria. Footage from Talbiseh shows a candlelight demonstration where protesters spell out "Down with the regime." More nighttime footage from Hama.
