June 14 - Thousands of Syrian refugees continue to flood into Turkey. Julie Noce reports.
They arrive by the bus-full under the veil of night... Syrian refugees pile into Turkey looking for sanctuary from the violent three month old uprising against President Bashar al-Assad's rule. And when they awake, they find themselves here... living in a tent city perched on a hillside. The Turkish Red Crescent is busy erecting tents at a camp near the Turkey-Syria border, bracing for another influx of people. Carrying only their most prized possessions, refugees get a lay of the land of their temporary homes. Some 7000 Syrians have crossed the border into Turkey so far. Thousands of others, who haven't crossed yet, are living just inside the Syrian border in dilapidated conditions. Western officials say at this rate of exodus, a humanitarian crisis is not likely far off. Julie Noce, Reuters
