Dec. 24 - Thousands attend a mass funeral in Syria for the 44 people killed in Friday's double suicide car bombs. Rough cut - no reporter narration.
Thousands of mourners surround the Omayyad Mosque in Damascus for the funeral of 44 people killed in two suicide car bombs. Aimed at two security buildings, the suicide boms are a sign of an increasingly violent insurgency against President Bashar al-Assad. Assad has used tanks and troops to try to crush nine months of street protests that started off as mainly peaceful rallies. The funerals come as world powers argue over the details of a UN resolution on Syria.
