NATO leaders arrive in Chicago for start of summit. Julie Noce reports.
It's good to be home... after spending the weekend at a woodland retreat near Washington, President Obama and first lady Michelle arrive at Chicago's O'Hare International airport Saturday evening. Obama and other world leaders touched down ahead of a NATO summit. Topping the agenda-- Afghanistan and drawing down the war there. Although NATO alliance countries have agreed to a full troop withdrawal by 2014, newly elected French President Francois Hollande has pledged to pull out at the end of this year. Leaders from the NATO countries will gather at Chicago's McCormick Place convention center for meetings set to start on Sunday. Major demonstrations are also expected near the centre on Sunday. Some protesters clashed with police during demos on Saturday, although police say fears of major violence have so far been unfounded. One man struggled with police as they pulled him from a crowd and arrested him. 14 people have been arrested in connection with protests so far. Julie Noce, Reuters
