(ROUGH CUT ONLY - NO REPORTER NARRATION) Footage of former Syrian Prime Minister Riyad Hijab, who fled Syria on Monday (August 6), was uploaded to a website on Wednesday (August 8). His defection is one of the most high profile desertions from Assad's political and military circles. The video was said to be shot in the southwestern Syrian city of Deraa, shortly before Hijab was smuggled into Jordan. Reuters is unable to independently verify the contents of the video, which was obtained from a website, and Hijab's whereabouts remains unknown. On Monday, Hijab denounced Assad's government a "terrorist regime" after fleeing the country.
