Sept. 4 - The White House releases the recipes for President Obama's beer, after calls from the public. Tara Cleary reports.
Something's brewing in the White House kitchen. The staff is making beer for President Barack Obama. And to coincide with his tour of Colorado, one of the nation's foremost craft brewing states, the commander-in-chief has released the White House ale recipes. The president especially enjoys honey-flavored brews. And the Honey Brown Ale and the Honey Porter get their primary flavor from the White House's first resident bees. Even though past U.S. leaders George Washington and Thomas Jefferson made their own drinks, President Obama's brews are the first known evidence of alcohol preparation in the White House. Let's drink to that!
