Feb. 24 - Police grappled with topless demonstrators at a polling station where former prime minister Silvio Berlusconi cast his ballot for the Italian election. Deborah Gembara reports.
Soaking rain did little to deter protesters determined to greet Silvio Berlusconi as he arrived at a polling station in Milan. Shouting "Enough Berlusconi Enough," and baring their breasts, they grappled with security as they tried to deliver their message to the former Italian Prime Minister in person. Berlusconi, who is trying to make a return to Italian politics, faces charges he slept with an underage prostitute. His attempt at a comeback isn't sitting well with Italians who fear the billionaire's penchant for scandal will overshadow Italy's economic crisis. --- a fact that didn't seem to faze Berlusconi as he cast his ballot Asked about the day's ruckus, Berlusconi had this to say. SOUNDBITE: Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi saying (Italian): "These acts are exaggerations. People with intelligence, using their heads, will use their vote in the elections. All these strange incidents that happen outside of reason, well, we can't do anything about them." The protesters, from an international women's rights group Femen were taken away by police.
