June 7 - Chinese President Xi Jinping arrives in California ahead of his meeting with the U.S. President Barack Obama. Rough Cut (no reporter narration).
ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: Xi Jinping arrived in Ontario, California on Friday ahead of his first meeting with U.S. President Barack Obama since he became the Chinese President earlier this year. Xi and his singer wife Peng Liyuan waved from the door of the plane before being greeted by California's Governor Jerry Brown, official Chinese broadcaster CCTV showed. The talks between Xi and Obama are expected to allow the leaders to get to know each other away from the spotlight of Washington. At the summit, Obama will also be looking to build on recent signs of a sharpening of Chinese pressure on North Korea over its nuclear and missile programs, a shift that could bring Beijing closer to Washington's position.
