Jan. 25 - Five people have died as flooding and heavy rains hit Bolivia, while thousands including farmers are affected. Michaela Cabrera reports.
Five people have died as torrential rains and flooding hit Bolivia. Mudslides blocked highways, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded. Rivers are overflowing in the tropical region of Chapare and Cochabamba. This farmer says floods have damaged crops, which have started to rot and are no longer good for selling. Some farmers drowned while trying to save their sheep. Across Bolivia, the poorest country in South America, more than 18,000 families have been affected by floods and local authorities are appealing for aid.
