U.S. missionary Dr Rick Sacra, who contracted the deadly Ebola virus in Liberia is being treated at this Nebraska hospital. Dr. Sacra is the third U.S. missionary to be infected with Ebola. Doctors here say they're confident their bio containment facility is adequate to treat their ill patient. Chief of Nebraska Medical Center's Infectious Disease Division, Dr. Mark Rupp: (SOUNDBITE) (English) DR. MARK RUPP OF THE NEBRASKA MEDICAL CENTER SAYING: "Our unit is specially designed exactly for this type of patient and for this purpose. It's a very safe environment for the patient as well as for the rest of our healthcare providers and our patients." Bruce Johnson, President of SIM USA Christian Group, fought back tears when reading an e-mail Dr. Sacra wrote prior to his evacuation. (SOUNDBITE) (English) BRUCE JOHNSON, PRESIDENT OF SIM USA "'To all of my colleagues here in Liberia at Elwa Hospital, I apologize...' Rick went on to say: 'Regarding evacuation, I know and accept that there is no easy solution for an evacuation, so I don't expect one. Jesus is right here with me in Liberia.'" Ebola has killed some 1,900 people, in what the U.S. Center for Disease Control calls "the first epidemic of Ebola the world has ever known."
