ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)
STORY: Several hundred people took to the streets of Port-au-Prince on Wednesday to protest against high fuel prices in the Caribbean nation.
The protesters, who marched through the city's downtown area, also called for President Michel Martelly to stand down.
Wednesday's protest, in which there were some incidences of police using tear gas to disperse the crowds, came two days after a key Haitian minibus drivers union called a two-day general strike on Monday to protest high fuel prices.
In an effort to avoid the strike, the government announced lower fuel prices on Friday.
Haiti is also in the midst of a political crisis after the prime minister was forced to resign and parliament was dissolved over the failure to hold municipal and legislative elections.
