Hillary Clinton is about to announce her intention to run for president in 2016, according to the New York Daily News. Quoting sources apparently close to Clinton, it says the former Secretary of State, Senator and First Lady will make it official on Sunday. Gavino Garay reports.
An announcement from Hillary Clinton that she intends to run for president would come as no surprise. She has been regarded as the unofficial Democratic frontrunner for months. The New York Daily News says Clinton is preparing to run for the 2016 U.S. presidential election and is likely to make the long-expected announcement via video and social media on Sunday. A variety of sources close to Clinton say they are anticipating an imminent announcement - but would not confirm the report. Clinton, a former Secretary of State, senator from New York AND First Lady -- has tried before. She was regarded as a frontrunner in 2008 too, but was beaten by the now president Barack Obama. But commentators say this time, she is in a much stronger position among Democrats, with polls in recent months showing her with a substantial lead ahead of Republican contenders.
