President Obama says he will work with Republicans and Democrats to move forward on his signature healthcare law. Rough Cut (no reporter narration).
ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) U.S. President Barack Obama on Thursday praised a Supreme Court decision upholding tax subsidies crucial to his 2010 healthcare law, saying the ruling was a victory for hardworking Americans. "After multiple challenges to this law before the Supreme Court, the Affordable Care Act is here to stay," Obama said during remarks in the Rose Garden following the ruling. The court ruled the Affordable Care Act did not restrict tax subsidies to states that establish their own health care exchanges. The decision means the subsidies can remain available in 34 states that use the exchange run by the federal government. "My greatest hope is that rather than refighting battles that have been settled again, again, and again, I can work with Republicans and Democrats to move forward... make healthcare in America even better," said Obama.
