Ten Republicans hoping to become the next U.S. president prepare to face off in the first debate ahead of the 2016 election. Diane Hodges reports.
It's the most crowded presidential field ever.. making the 10 spots on the Republican debate stage priceless for the 2016 contenders. Among those who will be on the podium are African American doctor Ben Carson... Controversial New Jersey Governor Chris Christie... and former Florida governor Jeb Bush. But the candidate at center stage is Donald Trump. His outspokenness has worried the party's leaders but most Republican voters believe he'll be a positive influence on the debate. In a new Reuters/Ipsos, most said he'll open the party up to new ideas and lead to more honesty. Democrats took a dimmer view. 69-percent said his candidacy makes a mockery of the political process. The debate will be broadcast from Cleveland Thursday night.
