Frustrated Southwest Airlines customers have been forced to wait in long lines for a second day as the airline tries to solve a technical problem with its electronic booking system. In the meantime, passengers are being told to prepare for delays. Katharine Jackson reports.
Lines are long at the Southwest check-in counter at New York's Laguardia airport...as hundreds of flights have been delayed due to problems on the airline's website, phone lines and at airports. In a statement, Southwest says technical issues have affected online booking, requiring manual processing for customers as they arrive for travel. The airline, which flies in the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean, is asking customers to arrive at least two hours before departure time and if possible print boarding passes at home.
