ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION). STORY: At a White House ceremony to honor the women's soccer team that won the World Cup, President Obama said that they showed that, "playing like a girl means you are a 'bad ass.'" Then, after a round of applause, Obama said, "perhaps I shouldn't have used that phrase." He added, "Playing like a girl means being the best. It means drawing the largest TV audience, for a soccer match, men or women's in American history. It means wearing our nations crest on your jersey, taking yourself and your country to the top of the world." The president extended the invitation to the White House during a call to team members after their championship game win over Japan. The United States defeated Japan 5-2 in the FIFA Women's World Cup final in July in Vancouver, Canada, the third time the U.S. women have won the title of world champion.
