U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said the U.S. is committed to working with France on strengthening their cooperation in the fight against Islamic State militants.

"We have to step up efforts to hit them at the core, when they're planning these things. And also obviously to do more on the borders in terms of the movement of people. But the level of cooperation could not be higher."
Kerry made the comments after meeting French President Francois Hollande to pay his respects for those killed or injured in Friday night's attacks.
Scores of people were killed when militants attacks a concert hall, a sports stadium, and restaurants in trendy Parisian neighbourhoods.
Hollande has said he would ask parliament to extend the nation's state of emergency for three months in order to give security forces sweeping powers to search and detain suspects.
