Canada's prime minister is whisked away by security staff as he gets mobbed by an adoring crowd in Manila. Michaela Cabrera reports.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau gets rock star treatment at an economic summit in Manila. He had to be whisked away by security as a mob of adoring journalists and staff swarmed around him. While Pacific rim nations tackled trade issues at the APEC, twitter users were busy debating who was the handsome "hottie" of the summit - Trudeau or Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto, who got a lot of attention for his clean cut looks. This group of volunteers gave Trudeau a slight edge and swooned when he shook hands with them. (SOUNDBITE) (Filippino) VOLUNTEER AT APEC MEDIA CENTRE AND UNIVERSITY STUDENT, ELAINE LAILA BLANCAFLOUR, SAYING: "He's the most handsome man I've ever laid eyes on." The 43-year-old tried to be modest about the attention he was getting. (SOUNDBITE) (English) CANADIAN PRIME MINISTER, JUSTIN TRUDEAU, SAYING: "There's an element of public role that can help and contribute to the very serious professional role that you have to do as a leader, and keeping that balanced right is really important." Trudeau won Canada's election last month promising "sunny ways" and respect.
