ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION U.S. President Barack Obama on his much-awaited family Christmas vacation to Hawaii was quick to hit the golf course of the elite Mid Pacific Country Club in Kailua on Monday (December 21). Several onlookers could be heard cheering the President at the 18th green, where he managed to chip a shot into the hole from nearly 40 feet away (12 metres), reporters on the ground said. Obama threw his hands in the air in celebration. The First Family will spend about two weeks on the island of Oahu before returning to Washington, D.C. in early January.
