ROUGH CUT - SUBTITLED (NO REPORTER NARRATION)
Taiwan's President, Ma Ying-jeou, attended a briefing on rescue efforts on Saturday (February 6) after a powerful earthquake struck the southern city of Tainan.
Ma listened to briefings on the status of the rescue operation, and inquired about the status of the missing and about fears of secondary disasters caused by gas and water leaks.
Several people were still missing after the quake, which killed at least 12 people, most of whom where in a 17-story apartment building that collapsed.
Rescuers worked into the night on Saturday (February 6), looking inside the collapsed building while smoke and ashes welled out from some of the openings in the broken down structures.
