Texas Senator Ted Cruz told the CBS news program, "Face the Nation," on Sunday that he is the only Republican who can defeat rival Donald Trump in the Republican primary and the only Republican who can defeat Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton in the general election.
With 73 percent of South Carolina precincts reporting, Trump had 33.1 percent of Saturday's vote, followed by Senator Marco Rubio with 22.3 percent and Cruz with 21.7 percent.
Cruz said much of his support came from younger voters, a continuation of a trend his campaign also saw in Iowa and New Hampshire.
