Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton told a church gathering in Michigan on Sunday that the parable of the prodigal son has helped her through "those difficult times" in her life.
Clinton said the parable taught her the importance of being grateful, even when she didn't appear to have much to be grateful for.
The Democratic front-runner was campaigning in Michigan just hours before she was scheduled to debate her Democratic rival Senator Bernie Sanders, who is struggling to slow her march to the party's nomination.
Opinion polls show Clinton, 68, leading in Michigan and Mississippi, which vote on Tuesday. She also leads in polls in several big states that vote on March 15, including Ohio and Florida.
