ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: U.S. Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz blasted his rival Donald Trump on Saturday (April 23) for saying that transgender people should use whichever public bathroom feels appropriate. Cruz was speaking to a crowd of supporters in Lebanon, Indiana, several days after Trump sided with critics of a controversial North Carolina law that requires transgender people to use government and school bathrooms that correspond with the sex on their birth certificate. Cruz said that as a father of young girls he didn't like the idea of grown men being allowed to enter a bathroom where girls might also be, and told the crowd that even if Trump were to dress up as Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton he still should not be allowed to use the girl's restroom.
