Hateful letters sent anonymously to three mosques in California with a warning that President-elect Donald Trump would ''cleanse'' the U.S. of Muslims stir fear among congregants. Jillian Kitchener reports.
There's fear among Muslim worshippers in Southern California ... after THREE area mosques received anonymous letters mentioning genocide against Muslims. The Evergreen Islamic Center in San Jose was one of them. Officials say the letters, all sent in one week, were identical... and came with a warning that President-elect Donald Trump will - quote - "cleanse" the U.S. of Muslims. (SOUNDBITE) (English) REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEE DONALD TRUMP SAYING: "Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States..." The letters read "You Muslims would be wise to pack your bags and get out of Dodge." The San Jose Police Department is investigating the incident as a hate crime. But Islamic leaders believe other mosques may have received similar letters and want the FBI to get involved.
