The Syrian army releases video showing clashes with rebel forces in Aleppo, as a military source say the government and its allies are in the ''last moments before declaring victory''. Natasha Howitt reports.
Scenes from Syria's war-torn Aleppo... This footage has been released by Syria's army, and is said to show clashes with rebel forces as they rapidly retreat. A military source has said government forces and their allies are in their "last moments before declaring victory". Rebel defences have collapsed and insurgents are said to be holed up in a tiny, heavily-bombarded area. Some activists and residents say civilians are being executed by pro-government militia. Aid groups trapped within the city's walls are making desperate calls to the international community to grant civilians safe passage. If Syria's President Bashar al-Assad - backed by Russia - reclaims Aleppo, it would be his biggest win yet during the nearly six-year conflict. But even if his forces declare victory, he would be far from restoring control across Syria.
