PLSE MAKE NO FURTHER USE OF THE OLD VERSION ++++ Was Vladimir Putin directly involved in the cyber attack on the US presidential election? That's the claim made by senior intelligence officials to NBC News - The sources saying the Russian president personally directed how hacked material from Democrats was leaked and used. His motive, they say, was first a 'vendetta' against Hillary Clinton - which then evolved into a desire to show American politics as corrupt and the U.S. as an unreliable global leader. The Clinton vendetta stretches back to 2011, reports NBC, when as Secretary of State she accused Russia's parliamentary election of being rigged and called for an investigation. The U.S. government in October formally accused Russia of cyber attacks against American political organizations ahead of the Nov. 8th presidential election. Congressional leaders have called for an investigation and President Obama has ordered a full review, with a report to be delivered before he leaves office.
