ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)
Demonstrators at Paris' Place de la Bastille clashed with police on Sunday (April 23) as the results of the first round in French presidential election were announced.
Early projections indicated that centrist Emmanuel Macron and far-right leader Marine Le Pen were set to face each other in a May 7 run-off for the French presidency after coming first and second.
On the Place de la Bastille, at a protest that had been called by left wing militants, some demonstrators were seen throwing objects and fireworks at riot police.
