At a rally in Pennsylvania, U.S. President Donald Trump is letting it be known that he's not missing out at all on the annual White House press dinner in Washington, D.C. Nathan Frandino reports.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP, SAYING: "Media outlets like CNN and MSNBC are fake news... fake news." President Donald Trump ripping the media again... this time from a rally in Pennsylvania on his 100th day in office, while the press dines in Washington at the White House correspondents' dinner. The annual dinner draws movie stars, politicians and business leaders... and normally the sitting president who typically gives a humorous speech. But Trump opted in February to skip the dinner. He instead sought to celebrate the 100-day milestone with his supporters. (SOUNDBITE) (English) PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP, SAYING: "And I could not possibly be more thrilled to be more than 100 miles away from Washington swamp spending my evening with all of you and a much, much large crowd and much better people!" Trump highlighted successes like the confirmation of Supreme Court justice Neil Gorsuch, promised more action and returned to his populist message that took him to the White House. "Make American great again, thank you!"
