Outgoing French President Francois Hollande and president-elect Emmanuel Macron attended a ceremony commemorating the abolition of slavery on Wednesday (May 10).
The annual ceremony took place in Paris' Luxembourg Gardens shortly after Hollande presided the last cabinet meeting of his Socialist government.
Macron served for two years as economy minister under Hollande, but left to make his successful bid for president with his own start-up party.
