Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan begins his two day mediation trip to the Gulf, meeting with Saudi's King Salman. Rough cut (no reporter narration).
ROUGH CUT. NO REPORTER NARRATION. Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan held talks with Saudi King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on Sunday (July 23) as he headed to the Gulf in an attempt to patch up the rift between Qatar and its neighbors. Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt cut ties and imposed sanctions on Qatar last month, accusing it of supporting terrorism. Doha denies the claims. In what has become the region's worst diplomatic crisis in years, the neighbors have since issued more than a dozen demands, telling Qatar to shut down Al Jazeera television, curb relations with Iran and close a Turkish military base. Erdogan will also visit Kuwait and Qatar on the two-day mediation trip.
