President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump meet with survivors of the deluge caused by Hurricane Harvey in Houston, Texas. Rough Cut (no reporter narration)
ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) U.S. President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump met with flood survivors in Houston, Texas on Saturday. Trump and the First Lady spoke to families and took pictures with children. Joining Trump were Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Housing and Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson. Rescuers are continuing their painstaking search through flooded neighborhoods across southeastern Texas for people stranded by Hurricane Harvey's deluge. The storm, one of the costliest to hit the United States, has displaced more than 1 million people, with 50 feared dead from flooding that paralyzed Houston, swelled river levels to record highs and knocked out the drinking water supply in Beaumont, Texas, a city of 120,000 people. Texas is the epicenter of the storm, with over 88,000 houses and businesses left without power. Trump on Friday asked Congress for an initial $7.85 billion to fund the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and a disaster loan program.
